Characterization of Walter Mitty

In "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", written by James Thurber, a man name Walter Mitty and his day dreams. In reality he is a normal ,safe, married, controlled by his wife kind of guy. When he gets into his day dreams that's when everything changes. In all of them he is in control. In the first one he is a commander, in the second a surgeon, in the third he is a defendant, and in the last he is a captain. Notice in all he is the one calling the shots. The point is that in reality he doesn't want to be who he is, he wants to be in control not be controlled.
