SEARCHING FOR SUMMER

In this story, a young couple named Lily and Tom decide to go on a honeymoon in a sunny place after their wedding. Since this was a time when most places had no sunlight, people would laugh at the thought of the new married couple looking for a sunny place to spend their honeymoon at. Despite the negative comments, they still had plenty of hope. So they hopped on their scooter, and began their journey.

They rode down south keeping their eyes peeled for any bit of sun they could get, but when moments passed and they still couldn't find not even the dimmest bit of sunlight, they began to lose hope. To make it even more worse, the engine died on them. Luckily there was a garage up the road,so they pushed the bike to the garage and asked if there was a pub they could stay in. The man there told them that there was one pub in the village called the Rising Sun where Mr. Noakes could lend them a room. When a bus pulls up Mr. Noakes is in a grumpy mood, but when he heard the couple needed a place to stay, a wide grin stretched across his face. He led them up the street to the rising sun, and let them unpack. After they were done unpacking, they sat down and ate their baked beans. When they finish eating, Lily decides to go for a walk, because she accidently picked up the old lady's bag from the bus. When they arrived at Mrs. Hatchins house to return her bag, Lily hurt her foot and needed a bandage for her foot. While Mrs. Hatchins took care of Lily's foot, they had a cup of tea from there long walk when Mrs. Hatchin said how tired they must be from their long walk on this hot day. It was then and there when Tom and Lily looked out the window, and saw the gleaming sun for the very first time.

The mood in this story was very confident because even though their relative weren't very supportive, they never lost hope. This story has taught us that even the worst days can turn out to be the best and that we should never give up on our dreams.
