"The Hills"

This short story is about a couple who is In the Ebro River Valley of Madrid, Spain.They are visiting these hills and the main character jig ,says the hills look like white elephants. She says this because she is pregnant and the man she is with wants her to het abortion but she does not know what to do. Jig says just like white elephants children are a burden, but they can also give you a family. As Jig and the man she is with get ready to board the train he asked Jig one more time do you feel better and she said " I feel fine". The tone in this story was hard for me to find because the characters went from angry to sad to happy.But throughout the whole story I think that Jig mostly felt angry because the man she was with really wanted her to get abortion.
