What Means Switch

In this story, a girl named Mona from New York moves to Bronx River Parkway, for Junior High School. In her class, a girl named Danielle Meyers brags about how she french-kissed one boy, and regularly kisses another. Mona decides that in order for her to become popular, she needs to have a boyfriend just like Danielle. When a boy named Sherman comes to visit from China, it's Mona's job to help him learn English. When she starts to hang out with him and gets to know him better, she feels connected to him, and realizes she's in love with him.

Then one day, while they were walking, they brush shoulders, and neither of them moves, then their wrists' touch and they finally hold hands. When it's time for Sherman to leave, they both sneak behind the bushes, and say their good-byes.Finally, Sherman kisses her on the cheek, then he kisses her on the neck, and slowly goes up and down her ribs. As soon as their parents come out, Mona wiggles out of his grip. Then all of a sudden, Sherman flips Mona, and leaves without one word.
