"Searching for Summer" had a great mood. The mood made the story. It made the characters more interesting. The tone presented the feelings of the characters. The tone actually made me think about how the characters look. When they were sad, I could picture there face. The dialogue was so descriptive, it was like seeing the real thing.
The author did a great job with the story. It was very mysterious at first when we found out that there was no sunshine. I found it interesting how Mr.Noakes was greedy and not very encouraging . That was one of the obstacles the couple had to face on their "quest" to find sunshine. The Nuclear Bombs that made the sunshine disappear and made the grass brown. The author was speaking as if she was in the future of her time, were Atomic and Nuclear Bombs were something everyone was afraid of and still are now. At the end when they did find sunshine was a good moment. Even after all the pain and loss of hope, they still continued on their quest and succeeded to find the self-knowledge.
