This story starts out when a few girls enter a store wearing nothing but bathing suits. This brings a cashier attention named Sammy to fall in love with one of the girls he calls Queenie. She had oaky hair done up in a bun that was unravelling, and a kind of prim face. She held her neck up so high her neck,coming uop out of those white shoulders, looked kind of stretched, but Sammy didn't mind. The longer her neck was,the more of her there was. Everyday, Sammy became more and more attracted to her each day, until Thursday afternoon came.

Queenie came in wearing the same bathing suit when the manager comes out and tells her this isn't a beach and kindly asks her to leave. When she hears this she starts to get an attitude with him, but leaves anyway. Meanwile, Sammy is behind the cash register watching everything when he decides to impress her by quitting his job. So he walks up to the manager, tells him he quits, amd runs out the door, but when he turns around to see if the girls were paying any attention to him, they were already gone.
